OK, The bumpers on my car have been powder coated a silver metallic color. I had an idea to match the center of my wheels to the color of the bumper. So I painted the front wheel (rear is un-painted) as a test, but can't decide if I like it or not. Note this was a test, I have another type of paint that matches a better but used a similar color paint as a test.

What do you think? I think the painted center makes the wheel look smaller.

you can barely tell that the center is painted. Not a big fan of the grey bumpers, I would powder coat or paint them black and then either leave the wheels alone or paint the centers black to match.

JMHO for what its worth (not much)

The bumpers are really a metallic silver (like a shiny cast alum.), which look much better in person, they just do not photograph well

That looks nice, especially with the black painted on the side of the car

    Mike,

Might be the photograph and / or my monitor but it is very difficult to tell the difference. If I can see this correctly, the window trim is a slight metallic that I'm assuming you used on the wheel spokes?

If so, it looks pretty good! I like the slight contrast on the wheel spokes but as for the bumper, I would say it would look better polished fully or painted to match. The wheels being the contrast to everything else would be fine...

It's your car! Do what you like!

I like it the way it is:D
The only thing I would change is maybe a 1 inch taller tire in the back.
When I had the hotchkis TVS some how I managed to fit a 325/50 15 bfg back there without rubbing.

Thanks for all of the comments. I tried a different color tonight, and I like it much better. I'm going to give it a day or so, but I think I'm set on painting all four wheels this way. I tried to get a better picture of the new color.

I have thought about changing the bumpers to black, polishing them or body color. But I really like the silver (really looks better in person); I actually painted the bumpers black before having them powder coated, but just didn't look right on the car. Polishing them looks great, but I have a lot of body work on these bumpers, and polishing them seemed impossible. These are junk yard bumpers, I still have the original, "un-modified" bumpers off of the car and stored in the attic for now. I'm also planning to have most (if not all) of the molding powder coated in silver to match.

Oh, and a pic with the new (used) vette
