i am looking for a new winch for my trailer. I need something to pull my cars up on my trailer don't need anything special. Just wondering what all the guys are using or anything that don't work well. Just let me know your experience.

I just asked this question and got a lot of varying results and opinions. I settled for an offshore unit because I couldn't justify the cost of a warn or mile marker etc. I bought a 12k X-Bull for $250. It looks identical and carries some of the same markings as the Smittybuilt on my friends trailer for 1/2 the price. It's only been a couple of months and it's done what I've needed it to.

I have a Warn & a Superwinch, but I'm obviously an idiot and try not to send my hard earned dough to my countries enemies that steal, counterfeit and build their products with our stolen designs using slave labor & inferior materials!!!!!!!
Then takes the money greedy fools hand them and builds missiles with it, aimed at us :(
Unfortunately, sometimes the best we can do is go with American owned, slave labor built in china :(
Obviously anyone with a clue would see something that looks identical and say must be stolen.
I probably shouldn't hand a POS thief, counterfeitor my hard earned dough

Same as the greedy fools that buy crap from a POS like skip white or harbor freight.
Some of us at least try, and do the right thing!!!!!!

FYI, I switched to synthetic rope last year, and it;s been perfect.
I know some winch's offer a synthetic rope now a days, just a thought.

Mine also is not too steep I had a 3500 atv super winch on it. It lasted for about 5 years but the weather got to it.
