"New" 3:23 Posi rear axle, but what is it?

Hi!

I just spent the better part of the day cleaning
up a 2nd gen axle I intend to use on my '73 since
it currently has an open rear, the axle has 42/13 teeth
on the crown wheel / Pinion and that would make the ratio
3:23, it's also a posi, traction lock.

Does anyone know where this axle might
originate from? It would seem it's a Pontiac
axle from the code but I haven't been able to make sure.

Is there anyone here that can tell
what I've got here? See pics for details.

Casting: D57 (kind of hard to read)

A bit further down the line

Things don't always move fast here but I am now about to rebuild the axle, it is cleaned and painted and a master kit has been purchased, however I'm not 100% sure whether to replace the clutch pack or not, I haven't seen a new pack in real life so it's kind of hard to tell, these pictures aren't great since my digital camera is about to be wasted, but if someone can tell from them if the clutches looks ok to go back in or if they are shot then please do let me know. Thanks in advance.

The ones that are lighter in color look to be wore out. The darker ones look ok. Give me a little bit and I will send you some pictures of brand new ones.

I think should replace my clutch pack
based on how new ones looked in those pictures
