So I have finally gotten my engine back from the builder. I have only two questions, what does everyone think of the combo? Who is coming over and helping me shove it in the car (beer will be provided by me lol)?

CuIn: 421
Rod length: 5.7”
Compression: 10.5:1
Intake: Rpm air gap
Headers: 1 3/4” primary 3 1/2”
Ignition: MSD pro billet, blaster 2 6AL
Oil pump: Mellings hv
Water pump: Frostbite elc
Heads: Brodix IK200
Lifters: Morel retro fit roller hyd perf.
Cam dur: 234/238 @.50
Cam Adv: 296/300
Cam Lift: 534/546 w/1.5
Intake: 107
Exhaust: 117
Rockers: lunati 1.5
Carb: Proform 750
Fuel pump: Holley Blue
Internally balanced with in 3/10ths of a gram

I had initially thought I was building a 406, until my engine builder informed me we had rod to cam clearance issues... it was at that point he told me he had put a stroker crank in it lol I will take that win.

I'd run really quick from any engine builder stating that, unless someone cares to explain how the piston rod can ever hit the camshaft in a small block 400 unless its snapped off....

Should be a sweet engine, going to have a nice sound to it and be about 375HP

I have the receipts. He is a good friend of mine and was trying to surprise me as a birth gift, my youngest is due to be born in about 3 weeks.

I must be missing something. A stock 400 (short) rod is made different to clear the cam in the big small block. Going with the 5.7 rods makes things a bit more difficult, have to grind off some of the bolt heads on a couple of the rods or buy a small base cam, special rods maybe. With a bigger stroker crank it is probably some worse I'd think? Need more research I suspect.

I would think 500HP+ pretty easily. (at the crank)
Now that you asked, you must dyno it. You can get a proper tune with that as well.

One of my favorite combos out there.
I'm putting this one tuned at 500-ish horsepower
