    Update. Included some new pictures. Sure does not look pretty but about to send to a buddy for body work and paint.

    Have been installing the front and rear disc kits from Custom Works. Great products. I also got the brake line kit, master, booster, and all the rest from them. They make a huge difference.

    Also picked up the Holley Sniper plus valve covers.

    Its nice to see another 79 under construction .I have one myself .Just "Keep on Truckin" and eventually you will have a very nice car.

    Yeah, planned to do everything myself. Now realizing that will never happen. Plus have the 71 tore down at same time.

    I am getting the motor / transmission together and have a few questions.

    Speedometer cable. Mine appears to be in two parts and one is cut. Are these typically in two parts or one piece? Looking on O'Riellys site there are multiple options.

    Shifter Rods. I have attached a picture of one of the rods that connect to the shifter. At some point in time someone welded a nut onto the end. How do I put this back the way it should be? Is there a piece that belongs on the end that can be bought or replace whole thing?

    Length depends on if you have cruise option. There would be two then. One from trans to cruise box. Then another to under dash. Can't help with shifter rods I have an automatic.
