I voted with my feet by leaving NY in 2004. Spent the first 47 years of my life living in various locations commutable distance to Manhattan, however never worked in Manhattan fortunately. It became apparent to me in the late 90's that I was nothing but a revenue generator for often absurd laws, taxes, ever increasing real estate costs and generally poor services in NY. I contribute my move south in '04 as a major reason I was able to reach my goals to retire at age 60 in 2018 and fully fund college for both my sons. Never looked back but do miss the hard rolls and pizza, both I indulge in when visiting. I definitely do not I miss the cold and snow. I was fortunate in that I had a combined 34 year career with two of the largest companies in the world in NY and TN, something I'm not sure I would have had if I spent my entire life in the south.

Imo NYC needs to be the 51st state. Take Cuomo and get out.....

Yes, I thought about it just being a fee to be in the park at night, but then why don't they just say the fee is for that? The way it is, it sounds like one doesn't have to pay if they don't look up. Just seems odd.

I'm not a city guy, so New York City doesn't interest me, but upstate New York is beautiful. It's too bad people are leaving.

The first time I read "gazing permit", I read it too fast and was thinking "grazing permit". It got me to wondering why New Yorkers are out there grazing. :)

I used to go gazing in parks in New York State all the time.....not quite what's being referred to here though.:smokin: New York is indeed a beautiful state. The primary reason I returned is I missed my daughters so much. A friend also run a resto/drag car shop. I go in and help him whenever I can. Just fired up a '80 Camaro - 1251 H/P. My car is 600 H/P. Its the wimp in there. One guy brought in a Z-370. Its in the process of being turned into a Pro Street. BIG bucks!

it's on a bunch of different NYS Parks, I just picked Watkins Glen because I've been there so much. No Place for Street Vendors there!
