Yep...that's too bad. I bought one this past black friday at Lowe's. 12 gallon capacity with 6hp motor. It got some serious suction. Also can be reversed to use as a blower. Normally sells for $100...I paid $30. A must have for any shop or garage, IMO.

Apparently no Plan B and now 1,700 employees out of a job. Hopefully someone steps in and rescues them and not the Chinese! Williamsport is a nice town, I feel bad for the community.

That is unfortunate for sure. I've always liked their equipment, have found them very useful cleaning up after minor disasters like a leaking dishwasher.

So that brings up a question I have always had about these. How in the world do they figure the HP rating? I mean there is no way that thing is a 6hp motor as it would take close to 50 amps at 120v to power a motor that size and these things run a 15amp circuit just fine...

No idea. They get away with the advertisement with the * or ** then follow it up with small print elsewhere on the box or user manual.

Regardless...mine does everything I need it to do and I certainly cannot complain for $30.
