Non marring lug nut socket?

    I'm looking to buy a socket for my chrome lug nuts so they don't scratch, any ideas whats the the best kind to go with?

    You can buy plastic inserts.

    Believe it or not I purchased a 3 socket set ( like the one above) at Home Depot......

    unless you have some really cheap lug nuts....you are not going to scratch chrome with a conventional socket. Chrome Rc (hardness) is around 65.... your Snap On steel socket is only about 43 Rc. For reference a typical bastard file is about 62 Rc.
    Now for the outside of the socket to not ding up the pretty Aluminum wheels...the tried and true method commonly employed for the last 40 yrs....

    Those are nice , not sure what rim your using, make sure the extra width fits if your lugs are recessed any

    Inserts came today and they work fantastic.
