7/25/14 Still Happy, happy, happy Customer service is #1 with NPD. Mr. Foster and I spoke today, and the result is a bad batch of dash's came in. Mine is one of them. The solution is I am getting another dash from them. Time will tell with the results.
Let's hope they pull those bad dashes...I've been putting off buying one and will be some kind of ill when or if I decide to make that purchase I end up with crap...
The only thing I would change is; I would get the new dash test fitted as soon as it hit my porch. I wish I would have taken it out of the box, tested fitted, and then moved on. Instead, I waited, test fitted, and now Im waiting for another one.
Sorry, I didn't take any pics of the brace and now the dash is apart after the mock-up. All I did was cut 2 strips of mild steel 1/8"x3/4" 8" long and bolted them in a triangle from center of the column support to the lower dash pad where the cluster fastens. I twisted the ends of the strips at the dash end and just bolted it up. I have one of the older style Covans dash inserts and didn't feel like it was stout enough. The brace made it very solid, however the design may not work with the factory dash. I'm anxious to see if the your replacement pad is any better, when did you buy the first one?
Oh crap!I have one sitting in my shop that I purchased on May 29.Still trying to find time to start the install.
Folks like my self calling in with concerns is how. Im suprised to see above got a new dash. Shawn told me they didn't have any good ones to send me and I inquired before the 28th Bottom line NPD is making it right.
