My stepson has degenerative discs in that area. He's been holding off on surgery, but the pain is really getting to him, although he recently started using gabapentin, and says that has really helped. I think he'll probably give in, in the not too distant future, and get the discs fused or replaced.

I was given a 'script for gabapentin. I took it once and it didn't do anything. I looked at the side effects and decided it wasn't worth using.

Same here, that crap does nothing for me. Best of luck on the surgery. Small silver lining is they think surgery can help you. Not every one is that lucky :(.

Your surgery will go so well that you'll be howling at the moon on New Years Eve! Really send you my best prayers. Ol Gaby has helped me alot with my hip as well as tumeric. Going to see a surgeon next week...oh joy as well. LOL!

Best of luck to you. I had L5-S1 done about 15 years ago.

I just hope they drill into your head that you're only 100% once. After surgery, you may feel amazing, but you may be back for more if you act like it. No lectures here...just for your own health.

My back talks to me from time to time, but (knock on wood).

Yes...all the best with the neck surgery. Lots of great advancements in surgical techniques and equipment. Should go well.
