Big difference between passing a car off as a restored/all original that has inconsistencies and a car put in a show. If the car is supposed to be correct, it's inviting people to question the correctness of it .I don't give a damn about originality but some people get bent out of shape if the oem air isn't in the tires. To each their own.

I look at it this way. 95% of the people causally checking out that car at a car show don't know the difference. Probably 75% don't care anyway, they just like seeing a cool old car.

I was never one to get caught up in the whole "numbers matching" thing. Old Musclecars are great but face facts, today a mini van can beat your 71 Z/28 on the 1/4 mile. I see nothing wrong with minor mods or upgrades to personalize a vehicle to the owners tastes. Making your 45 year old Musclecar look, turn, stop, and accelerate better than OE is perfectly OK in my book.

I draw the line at certain things like say dropping a 350 Chevy into an old Pontiac, Olds, or Buick.

Well opinions are like...you get the idea.

Personally, I'd tell the guy in a nice way and wouldn't think twice about any repercussions...my thought is the guy doesn't know any better and I'm saving him from future grief.

I've made it through 58 years on this planet doing just that and that's just how I roll...you guys do what you want and I'll do what I want...I really couldn't care less :)

I don't go to a lot of car shows every year but when I do, there is always A LOT more amusing things to see than an out of place sticker. I really don't care what people do to their own cars but when I walk by some of this stuff, I kinda laugh to myself and sometimes think, maybe the guy who did that shouldn't be working on cars. Gosh where to begin. Here are some things I find amusing at shows.

    Way over the top displays:

Over the top or poorly done under hood murals:

Stuffed animals all over or in the car:

    Those damn crying bumper kids:

    Wacky painted engines:

Colored wiring harness conduit and poorly painted engines/engine bays:

Rows and rows of new Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, Vette's, etc at an advertised "Classic Car Show":

Mannequins. What do people do with these things when not a show? Stuff them in the trunk?
