Congrats Joe, Wallkill is cool, I grew up in New Paltz and live in Saugerties now, the very Northern edge of Ulster County.

Thanks. We like it so far. Kids like their new school. Just gotta remember to mind the speed limits when passing through the towns lol

I will be starting tomorrow. Took the train today because i gotta meet a buddy when I get off work. Picking up a beater as a spare car to keep at home for the wife just in case. 1997 Camry. $800 with a 40k mile dealer installed new motor resulting from the sludge recall. Can't go wrong. Just needs a d/s door and an axle. No biggie. Driving it home in the morning

How many miles is your trip?
I do close to 65 each way. They add up quick. I've burnt through my share of beaters.

    What shift do you work?

Depends on which way I go. Coming into work I will most likely come over the newburgh bridge, down the taconic/sprain to cross county to deegan. Crossover into Manhattan via w230th st-bdwy-riverside dr-west side hwy.
Only costs me $1 in tolls. 85 miles.

Home, probably lincoln tunnel-rt 3-17n-rt32. $0 in tolls and approx. 75 miles.

    I work 6p-2a (3a sometimes)

I take 84 to 684 to Cross County Pkwy, then Deegan to the West Side Highway. I avoid all tolls, unless Im running late.

Took me 2 hours to get in today. One hour to get to the Carmel exit on the taconic. Friggin bronx/Manhattan is what screwed me up. Where/how do u pick up the west side hwy from the deegan?

I take the Deegan all the way to the gwb. Take the last exit before going over the bridge. That brings you right to the west side highway.

The hours i travel, that way is usually good. During the day, avoid it like the plague.

Most if not all the traffic I hit is from my job (33rd & 10th) to the gwb. Usually once im past that, its clear sailing. A good trip for me is an 75 minutes, and im usually breaking all the rules of the road. :innocent:
