Original Dash 10 ohm Speaker Replacement Option

    I did something similar:

    Im going to redo it with some sort of plastic instead of the wood. Its holding up for now though.

    I bought the same speaker as OP from the same gentleman in Michigan.

    Did a very similar mod as you did, speaker sounds great.

    Joe Vijil did reconing of my front speaker (1971 Z) and did a nice job. I also purchased an oe rear speaker from him and had him recone it. It wasn't cheap, but was correct for the car and had the mounting stud for the speaker baffle. He also did a recondition of the original AM radio. Everything works and I would recommend him. He is located in Monrovia CA and has a web site.

    I purchased a rear 10 ohm speaker from Joe and he reconditioned my 74 Z28 original radio, plus did a few other things. I would recommend him too.
