Original windshield or not

Anyone know if this is the original windshield for a 1970 Z28? The car is pretty much original with the exception of the paint. 69k miles. It needs to be resealed and I would prefer to use the same glass (if it doesn’t break) if it’s the original. Attaching a picture. Thanks to anyone that can provide any info.

If it still has original factory seal in it, it should be easy to remove. Most of those windshields and rear windows are loose after this many years and can often be easily pushed out of the car. If it has been done using urethane, good luck. That stuff holds so well that removing often means breaking the glass. No glass shop will guarantee a window installed with urethane if you ask them to remove it.

Good point about the sealant. It’s installed with butyl not urethane. The glass is still in decent shape but has slid down on the left side against the metal bracket which is crunching the glass. My glass guy (without seeing it yet) thinks a spacer may have come out or the bracket used to be rubber coated. Anyone have a picture of it or know?

Yes, each side should have an L shaped clip to prevent slippage. Most of the suppliers carry them or it would be easy to make one.
The clips are located about 12 in in from the outside edge. Check the good side to see what they look like.

Well they are both there but the left one slid down and doesn’t get along with the windshield.
