Anyone notice the inner bracing of the LH fender (driver's side) towards the front where the headlight would go? Why is that area cut at an angle just before it mounts to the radiator core support?

The LH fender on my 71 is square in that area with three holes. The top hole has a fastener behind it for electrical and nothing in the two bottom holes. My washer fluid bottle is mounted on the inner fender next to the charcoal cannister. I have another LH fender off of a 71 front clip with the same square area and three holes.

Then I have a LH fender from a 74 where the square area has been cut at an angle like the NOS fender on Craigslist. It has just one hole at the top and the cut was made at an angle where the two bottom holes are gone.

Why are some of the fenders cut in that area of the inner bracing and others are not? Thanks.

I agree, from the scrounging around the internet that I've done. I've seen them for around 500 each when they pop up. But I guess if you got the money burning a hole in your pocket.

Yeah the prices that seller is asking on his parts are sky high!! I've never heard of NOS fenders actually sell for that much. You can find them for much less if you're patient and shop around... On top of that, technically those fenders are not even correct for a early 70's Camaro, they're the later design over the counter replacements which are different than original 70-74 fenders. They'll fit but need modifications to make them look like the 1st design...
The square area that BillyDean is talking about above was used for mounting the washer bottle on 1970 Camaro's. After 1970 the bottle was relocated and at some point GM eliminated the square area and changed it to an angle, like the one in the CL ad.
