Partial VIN location for Transmission

Is the partial VIN for trans next to partial vin on engine. see attachment.

I could not SEE your picture well enough to have a comment.

Am I seeing the same VIN number stamped onto aluminum bellhousing
as onto the cast iron engine block bellhousing flange ???

I have never seen or read of this before ????

Yes..same number. Is that not where it's supposed to be?

It is a late number VIN...maybe they did it that way later in the year. I've never seen it that way, either.

Is this a automatic car or a 4 speed. A 4 speed would be stamped on the transmission not the bell housing,
