Folks, literally pulling whats left of my hair out trying to get the passenger side window adjusted. Wondering if Im missing something.
1. Currently after many adjustments, the window is slightly hitting the weather strip trim on the back.
2. I have a slight bind in the front of the window on the weather stripping. The stripping is new. Looking for suggestions on this.
3. When I get the window "close" to looking good and working well, I have a small gap on the top of the window near the front.
4. When I pull the window down, all is OK. When I raise the window, it binds at the front of the door on the weather stripping.

If I move the window, Im either tight in the front or hitting on the back.

Wondering if anyone can offer some tips or references to sights so I can examine and see what mistakes Im making.

Im getting it so close.........but cant seem to get it over the finish line.

I really do appreciate your help.

Regards

Be sure the door hinge pins are in good shape. If the door might sag, lower in the back, the window will never fit the weatherstrip properly.

I think your issues is the middle rail. There’s a small slider/rail that guess up or down.
It’s the smallest shortest one if you loosen the one bolt well actually, both balls but then allow the front to move up or down that will push the right side of the window up I know because I just went through this

I feel your pain. We had the doors off my 70 for repainting, and the side glass wouldn't line up properly when we re-installed them (even though we hadn't changed anything WRT the glass) . I screwed around with them off-and-on for several weeks before finally getting them lined up reasonably well. The passenger side still doesn't go up far enough (can hear a whistle when driving), but otherwise seem to fit fine. Anyway, this writeup was much more helpful than the shop manual. https://nastyz28.com/threads/window-alignment-guide.139323/#post-1442321

Good luck.

I put new sweeps on and spent the whole weekend adjusting my windows. I feel your pain. In the Fisher Body book it shows all the point and parts, I take it you already seen that.

Is this a factory original glass?

Ran into this with a new aftermarket window. About ready to send it back when I found a Youtube video on adjusting this. Guy really made it simple and it worked great after all the tweaks.

I bought all new weatherstrips from GM in 1985 and the glass is still tight up top.

There were some bad Door glass reproductions back in the late 70's for these cars....
Our shop installed one in a girls camaro and we could not get it adjusted.. If I recall the bend of the glass was incorrect...Its very subtle, but u will not be able to get it to fit and seal correctly....
We had to order a new door glass and it solved an ongoing headache for us....
Just saying you might have one of them..........
