I just bought an auto meter 3 3/4in tach for my 80. I wanted to mount it in the center of the dash with a big hose clamp around the column but of course it doesnt fit. Anyone have any pics or ideas where to mount mine where it can be seen easily on a 79-81 dash? I thought about on top of the dash but im not crazy about it there. I will if i have to tho. Thanks

I mounted mine in the top left corner. Inside the gauge cluster, covers up my idiot lights. but still enough room to get to your headlight and wiper switch

I was thinking about it there or one the right side but it seemed kinda hard to see. Is yours pretty visible?

A 3 3/4 in. tach should fit on the column with no issues. I have a 5" mounted on mine.

I'm going to mount mine to the A pillar along with a vaccuum gauge. The view doesn't get any better than that!

I have mine mounted just below the radio to the left of the center console... and just to the right of the ash-tray. Seems to be a good spot for me... and no it doesn't get in the way of my leg either...

I race my car so it's kinda important to see the tach. I have a z28 rope steering wheel so that may make it a little tougher too
