Have you checked your timing yet?
Agreed. Way more basics need to be covered. Sounds like fuel supply/mixture and or ignition. Or vacuum leaks. So many little things to check when it's been opened up. Shouldn't be hard to get it sorted out. Before you throw expensive parts at it... Make sure the timing/advance is set and working properly.
Hello,My .02?
For a 350 that is a pretty big cam. 235I/249E is a bunch of duration. The 107 Lobe separation angle is pretty low for 350 cube engine. It's part of the reason there is a bunch of chop at idle.
No question the idle is going to be quite rough no matter what the TC is used with that cam.
Really low vacuum if you have power brakes.
You could try a higher stall speed TC maybe around 3600 rpm. But I still think as a daily driver in the summer you are going to come to find that cam is a bit too much.
Cam wise I would back it down to something like 220I/230E with a 112 LSA?
Couple of other things. Stock heads? What kind?
That 500 Eddy carb maybe choking off some power?
Again just my .02.
No cats on it, it has 3in flowmasters complete dual pipe. The valve springs are from comp, they are duals. With the covers off there isn’t excessive movement in the rockers or springs and all of them flow nicely. I’ve been told that the cam was around the correct size for the converter that’s in, but with 1.6 rockers it’s pushing it.Get it running right before putting a Sniper unit on it. Borrow a 650 carb if possible. Stock heads with a large cam and 1.6 ratio rockers seems like the valve springs cant keep up or maybe spring binding. I've never heard of a TC that acted up. Not to say that isnt possible, just never heard of it. Does it have a catalytic converter on it? Are exhaust restrictions a possibility?
