Possibly too small of a torque converter?

The timing was recently set at 12 initial, 36 total but it was messed with further without a timing gun at hand so im not totally sure where its at. Whatever it is now it starts right up and isn't misfiring.

My .02?
For a 350 that is a pretty big cam. 235I/249E is a bunch of duration. The 107 Lobe separation angle is pretty low for 350 cube engine. It's part of the reason there is a bunch of chop at idle.
No question the idle is going to be quite rough no matter what the TC is used with that cam.
Really low vacuum if you have power brakes.
You could try a higher stall speed TC maybe around 3600 rpm. But I still think as a daily driver in the summer you are going to come to find that cam is a bit too much.
Cam wise I would back it down to something like 220I/230E with a 112 LSA?
Couple of other things. Stock heads? What kind?
That 500 Eddy carb maybe choking off some power?
Again just my .02.

Before you throw expensive parts at it... Make sure the timing/advance is set and working properly.
Agreed. Way more basics need to be covered. Sounds like fuel supply/mixture and or ignition. Or vacuum leaks. So many little things to check when it's been opened up. Shouldn't be hard to get it sorted out.

Hello,
The heads are stock yes, I don’t have the codes, but whatever came on those 74 350s. The heads are fitted with dual springs, not sure about the pushrods, guides, 1.6 ratio roller rockers.
Here’s my plan: I’m looking to fully roller out this engine, I’m thinking I’m going to return my current cam that has less than 20 minutes on it, and get

Howards Cams Retro-Fit Hydraulic Roller Camshaft and Lifter Kits CL110225-12

With the edition of a complete bottom end rebuild kit (for separate other reasons; excessive smoke/power)
With this it’ll solve other problems I have with the engine while also putting a much less lopey cam. I believe this cam will also work with my summit torque converter even keeping the 1.6 rockers.
Lastly I will eventually fit this motor with either a sniper efi or 650 cfm.
Thanks.

Before you go down the rabbit hole i would buy a timing light and work out any timing issues. I was not on board with your response as to in you checked the timing.

Get it running right before putting a Sniper unit on it. Borrow a 650 carb if possible. Stock heads with a large cam and 1.6 ratio rockers seems like the valve springs cant keep up or maybe spring binding. I've never heard of a TC that acted up. Not to say that isnt possible, just never heard of it. Does it have a catalytic converter on it? Are exhaust restrictions a possibility?

No cats on it, it has 3in flowmasters complete dual pipe. The valve springs are from comp, they are duals. With the covers off there isn’t excessive movement in the rockers or springs and all of them flow nicely. I’ve been told that the cam was around the correct size for the converter that’s in, but with 1.6 rockers it’s pushing it.

Don't think you can return the cam. But for the money you're about to spend on the rebuild I'd look into a crate motor instead. You'll know exactly what you're getting with that.

Summits return policy is up to 90 days not damaged. I still have the box and everything it came in, I’ll try calling to be sure. Rebuild kit I saw was going for about 400 on summit, that’s just normal 4.000 bore pistons, gaskets, rings, and a oil pump.
