Got my first Daytona experience at a Track Night event on 8-4-22 !
Car performed well, had a great time. Those banks sure take some getting used to compared to Sebring.
Here a couple short videos from the event.

Although not me driving my Camaro Z/28, my son drove down south to NY state a few weeks ago with his 2010 Honda SI to compete in an SCCA Autocross event in the Finger Lakes region. He said it was a nice track, well laid out and the people there where just so welcoming and passionate, very nice group he said.

He's made some changes and wanted to know if they worked. It must have been the right moves, although in (ST/STX) it's all full of rear wheel drive BRZ and FRS's, he did pretty good being the only front wheel drive in his class.

Finished in 1st place in Street Touring, and even better 4th overall in PAX. He even beat a guy in a Porsche RS !! But, I have seen him beat many dudes in new Vettes & Porsche on occasion.

I guess that little Honda can boogie, and he can get almost everything out of it.

I guess DAD taught him well LOL........

Holy crap he is moving in that thing. Is oil control any sort of factor with those engines at that rpm under those kind of cornering g's?
That must be frustrating for the guys in the big dollar cars.

Yep, he can wheel a FWD like I've never ever seen before......it's actually amazing how fast he is in that little SI !!!

Oil control is not an issue in that engine plateform for the most part...but he is really pushing it with thos 255's on the front LOL he does adjust exactly how much oil he has in it though.

LOL, most of the high dollar "faster" cars kind of give the side eye and like think WTF is this kid doing LOL

He got up at 3:30 am, he hardly slept and headed out in the middle of the night for round #3 in Finger Lakes, although he comes around in later rounds, he's doing OK this am.

He will fall down the latter, but he’s hopping to be in the trophies 🏆 at the end of the day. Even then, he says the people are great and the competition is awesome

Thanks Biker, he really does enjoy the whole "autocross" experience. He even liked it when he first started out with his 4 door POS Accord, rusty stock 4 door with stock 4 cyl manual...but he did not give up, drove the wheels off it and learned many lessons real quick on what it takes to be quick in autocross.

And still learning every time out there.....you are so right about sport and competition....Win or loose, it's getting out there and doing it!!!!

Sorry for the "proud Dad-Honda highjack" on this NastyZ28 thread.

Back to Camaro stuff.

SCCA Vintage qualifying at Sebring last month.
Car ran great, set a new best lap time on this course by 3 tenths faster
Got to the grid late in 14th position and worked my way up to 3rd in the 15 minute
qualify session.
