Yesterday I was talking about transformers failing because of the heat. Tonight there is no power at my house and APS is in the alley gettin 'er done.
I wonder how rough this heat is going to be on the grid this summer.

It cooled down a bit today. It’s only 111 degrees, but it’s dry heat

When I went to the Minnesota State Fair it was 78* out and I was sweating like a crackhead. People were looking at me funny because I was soaking wet from the humidity. I am used to 7% humidity, not 87%.

I was wondering if we were going to start having those too.

Does Arizona have a lot of wind turbines?
(I know Texas has a bunch of them.)

You would think wind is a good thing for generating power but too much wind can be a serious problem if the safety features on these things fail.

I work for a data center here in town and sometimes we work with APS and go up on gens if needed to help alleviate some of the "load" on the grid. I'm sure other facilities do the same but I don't know if Ca does it but i'd bet that its at least a thought in their plan but then again it is California.
