    I just read they can declare a heat emergency and allow the use of generators not normally allowed by CARB

    "Additionally, the order states that the California Air Resources Board “shall exercise maximum discretion to permit the use of stationary and portable generators or auxiliary ship engines to reduce the strain on the energy infrastructure and increase energy capacity.”



    There was a better article on it in a local news source but I can't find it now.

    You have to be allowed to run your generator?

    If the gens are rated as a "standby generator" then you are only allowed a certain number of hours of run time per year to include all testing.

    Let me clarify that a little. That pertains to large facility generators.

    See way up north in Wash. and Oregon they are have plus 100 deg. temps. Probably not used to that up there!
