Got the hood installed, aligned, and sanded for buffing today... I know it looks like the hood color doesn't quite match but it does These fluorescent lights in my garage play havoc with the pearl in the paint.
It's been raining all week but I was able to get the buffing done on Wednesday. I still need to do some spots on the front bumper and then remove some swirls but it's all done. Now I need to detail the crap out of it and get some wax on it. I just ordered my exhaust kit and will start working on the brakes this weekend.
I tried modify the S10 e-brake cables but I failed miserably. I ordered up some universal Lokar cables and should have them tomorrow. Hopefully the clevis is correct to attach to the brake assembly. If not, I'll figure it out. Either way, at least i'm making some progress, even if it's just ordering stuff
Modifying stock ebrake cables is surely no small task. I went with Control Cables to adapt my C6 ebrakes to stock ebrake pedal assembly (as Tobin at Kore3 suggested, despite that his install instructions reference Lokar). Control Cables custom fabs their cables, and provides a sheet for you to fill in measurements (yes, a nerve-wracking task - mine wound up being juuust long enough). They will know what cable configurations and ends you need. If the Lokar stuff doesn't look right, I suggest giving them a call. I think my cables were $75. And I second DBS - give that paint a few months before you wax it. Mirror Glaze or similar will get you through until then.
My Lokar cables came in today and I was able to get them mounted. I can't believe how easy that was. The only thing I have to do is adapt my factory cable to the Lokar assembly, which I don't think will be very difficult. Looks like a trip to home depot to start digging through threaded rod and fittings.
Got my front sway bar and new tie rod ends installed tonight. I also started on my brake lines from the master cylinder but I need to take off the inner fender to get everything right, which I'll finish this weekend. And, I ordered my front seats from TMI today too! 8-10 weeks for delivery, which should put me right where I need to be since I have quite a few small things to check off the list before I concentrate on the interior.
