Hey everybody quick question, kind of. Long story short i love mountain biking and i love my Camaro so I want to combine the best of both worlds. I have been doing some searching and can't find much about this topic so I figured i'd start one. I am basically wondering if anyone has mounted a hitch on there Camaro or if anybody has some ideas on how to custom fab one. my bike only weighs probably about 20 pounds so its not gonna be holding much weight.

There was a hitch on my 76 when I bought it. I wish I could find one now

For some reason I thought Chuck71RS had one on his car at one point. I could be wrong but maybe PM him. If it is him, he could probably tell you how it was mounted. I think it was a bumper hitch, which would be strong enough for a bike. What year? Chrome rear bumper? He might be able to help.

You could use the 2 original inner bolt locations that mount the bumper to the inner structure to mount a plate by using longer bolts. Then just weld the appropriate receiver tube (matching a bike rack) to the plate. Drill a hole so you can install a retainer pin again matching the bike rack.
Curtmfg.com shows some 1 1/4" receiver hitches that are bumper mount. 20210403_085056.jpg

It was rare to see any hitch on a corvette, Mustang or Camaro back in the 1970’s . I have dirt bikes , I use a 25 year old F250 van to haul em in., insurance is dirt cheap , reliable 6cyl , and not afraid to leave it alone out in the woods . Buy an old Toyota small pickup with a small engine to get you where your going and odd chores. You don’t need a King Ranch or 90K dollar pickup for chores with 40k diesel option to haul around one person .
