Hey everyone! How we all doing?

Well it's about time for connectors, i think. I got my front suspension all refreshed, bilsteins all around and solid body bushings. I was just looking around and I really like how Custom Works connectors are looking.

    Questions:

    1. Did you guys weld them in fully or bolt the fronts into the subframe so the subframe could still be removed? I plan on keeping this car forever, and I'm sure sometime in the future I would like to remove the body from the subframe.

    2. Is any rigidity sacrificed by bolting the fronts in rather than welding?

    3. Should I do anything prior to putting them in? The brake and fuel lines are fine, and the car is already undercoated. Not sure if anything will be blocked or hard to get to.

    4. How much more will I love the car once they're in? :D

    Thanks everyone!

Well, you have all your bases covered for sure. You can bolt them in with no issues, but weldeing is really the way to fly. Some guys do both. I'd say do what you're comfortable with. A weld can always be cut and ground to remove a part too.

I'd recommend buying the Alston frame ties. They are VERY low profile and fit well too.

How annoying is it to cut out a weld? Something that would take a few minutes each weld or would it be something future me would hate myself for doing? lol. At this point I'm 23 years old and don't have much of a work space, but I could guarantee that in the future the body will come off this car at some point.

I've never heard of Alston or Heidts.

Also... How are those wooden stands made? They look pretty sweet.

I have the Custom Works subframe connectors and mine are bolted in with solid body bushing mounts. Here are mine while installing pypes exhaust.

Thanks for the pics! How much did it improve the car? I've read about the rear frame rails being too thin to be worth bolting into. How long have you had them in, and do you drive the car hard? I drive mine multiple times a week, and along with it getting beat up by suburban NY roads, I throw the car around a lot as well.

I'm using Global west. Welded in the rear and bolted in the front.
