Rally Wheel Back Side Correct/Factory Color

Does anyone know the correct back side color for a 1973 Rally Wheel used on the Camaro (14x7)? I know the front is Argent Silver; I am not sure about the back side. Black primer? Dove Grey? I have searched and asked, but am getting both answers.

This is an original set of wheels I bought for my 72 SS and never used (rollers on my Corvair now). They have never been repainted, there Argent Silver on the outside and Dove Gray on the inside. They came off of an early 70's Camaro. And yes they are 14x7's.

So there were 3 manufacturers for 1973 Camaro 14x7 wheels, KH (Kelsey-Hayes), NI (Norris Industries) and MW (Motor Wheel). I believe all KH wheels were Dove Gray on back side, don't know about the other two.

Not sure if the rally and Z wheels are the same color but this is the code of gray that I painted my inner wheels for my 73 Z. Pretty sure I got the code from the PPG color library but can’t remember for sure.

It's dove gray. Pretty sure it's the same dove gray as the Z28 rim. There's more info on NastyZ with the paint codes. I got it here 10 years ago for a set of rims I painted.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. My 73 rally wheels, with late 72 date codes, are silver on the backside. They could have been painted by a previous owner, IDK. My spare rally, was dove grey on the backside, argent silver on the front. Guess I will go dove grey and call it a day.

Used to have a full set of 15x7 rally wheels off 1974 Laguna S-3 and the backs were factory painted "dove gray" silver front. Have a friend who has 1973 Vette with rally wheels and his backs are black. He bought the car used so what was original is unknown. Years ago someone told me the over the counter wheels from Chevy came in black backsides.
