The story is that it spent its whole life in PA under a single family ownership (dad to son) and always garage kept but sellers stories are always a toss up.The tag kinda looks like it has a ton of undercoating/rustproofing on and around it, it doesn't look "crushed". So that could be a less sinister answer to why it is hard to read. However, that could also mean it is a Northern car with all kinds of new possible issues.
That tag was not in any enclosed garage except maybe a car port.
If it’s a single family owned car then it shoukd have a ton of paperwork. Nobody buys a family owned car without asking for all the papers that are available. It would be benificial to the sale.
PA car....like I said all kinds of possible/hidden issues. Look for Zeibart plugs. I grew up in Western PA, I bought the red 72 in my signature in 78 and it already had rusty 1/4s and outer wheel houses. I drove it till I got out of college in 84 every day. I hope to have it back together after an extensive rotisserie resto the end of this summer. Every part on the body other than the firewall and the roof has either been replaced or repaired. PA is hard on cars! The story is that it spent its whole life in PA under a single family ownership (dad to son) and always garage kept but sellers stories are always a toss up.
calling bs on tag. somebody purposely did something, looks like pushed on it. i don't think sanding, unless they had sand paper and just sanded that area. but as stated earlier potentially would have worn through. the lower letters look ok. if possible i would use some solvent on tag to strip(they are aluminum)so not like it going to rust. The paint is all chipped around edge of tag, tells me that it has been sprayed a few times.at least in that area. if they want that much i would definitely do some digging.Well it's got a later or wrong year passenger side fender...which is common, not a deal breaker.
The pad on the block is sanded flat, no numbers as well...that's a tough one to swallow.
I can't even tell if it's a paint code 43, for citrus green.
or maybe bondoThe tag kinda looks like it has a ton of undercoating/rustproofing on and around it, it doesn't look "crushed". So that could be a less sinister answer to why it is hard to read. However, that could also mean it is a Northern car with all kinds of new possible issues.
if you go look at take magnet with some masking tape on one side(so as not to scratch).Agreed on all, that's just the story the seller is telling.
