I had new quarter panels put on the car and they don’t come with the bumper holes pre drilled. I have the bumper bolted to the car but need some guidance on how to align the bumper. I do have play in the runner bumper, it will stretch flush to the quarter, is this how it is supposed to go?

Can anyone at least verify that the rubber bumper is pushed all the way against the quarter panel, can see it without disassembling the car

Lots of useless closeups IMO. Can’t help with those pics. Good pics if you were selling a watch in eBay. This isn’t the 1st time responders have asked for pics that were farther away.

Speaking of rear bumper alignment, I noticed when I got my Camaro that the rear license plate is too close to the bumper, so when I get gas I can't properly lay the plate horizontal like it's supposed to be, or it will try and scratch the top of the bumper.

So, I just take the plate off, pump the gas, then put the plate back on again. I barely drive it though, but it's still a hassle. Actually think I need to take it to a body shop and have them bend the bumper a bit, if possible. At first I thought that whoever restored the car may have put a '69 license plate holder on there, but nope, it's a '70 one.

The pictures are hard to decipher, but I think I see what you mean. I’m in the process of taking mine apart for paint. Here are pictures of my gaps and how they are set. However, I don’t have those crappy rubber bumpers, mine are fiberglass so I was able to glass them and make them fit better. My quarters are all original

That’s what I was looking for, in the additional photos I uploaded you can see the rubber bumper is notched and it looks like it should flush mount to the quarter. I just wasn’t sure because I had taken the car apart so long ago
