Recommendations For Auto Dimming Welding Helmet?

    Any of the big names are good. Miller Elite is great, my son bought a 3M with the big lens and hepa filtration. He says it's the best he has had yet.
    Go for the biggest lens you can.

    Anyone used any of the newer helmets with the true color lense instead of the dark green? Curious if that is as nice as it seems it seems like it would be.

    Yes. My sons 3M speedglass is like that. I tried it and I can actually see the weld like I could 30 years ago.

    I have a WeldCote Metals one with a large lens. Priced fair, works great and I have beat it up good working on the Camaro.

    Don't buy the HF ones, the batteries go dead after 1 year and you cannot change them.

    Thanks for all the replies. Now I just have to chose one :)

    I buy some stuff at HF, but I wasn't going to go that way with a new welding helmet.

    I used a Kohler one from Lowes for awhile, got it on clearance for like 20 bucks from 100 or so. I gave it to my friend as I dont weld anymore and hes still rocking it.
