Who has done this? My brother and I are working on a new Drew Barrymore movie for Universal Pictures, it takes place in Alaska in the late 80's and we are renting them a bunch of cars/ATV's/ and Snowmobiles. The cars are my 71 Blazer, my 78 Trans Am, 3 honda Big Reds, 3 SkiDoo Scandics, some 80's Suburbans and Trucks, and 80's plymoth wagon. The key is the 80's vehicles need to look new, not 20+ years old. but they cant be restored away from original (no Restomods). What kind of rates for our stuff should we be looking for? Background vehicle vs. Principal vehicle? I would love advice from folks who've actually done this, thanks.
So if you do this, then what are you going to drive? Do you have a '90's-up DD? I'd say rent it to them at the equivalent rate as the regular rental car company rates. Check Avis/Enterprise/Hertz and see what they charge? That would be fair for you both.
i have heard of several people doing this and the cars get scratched up beat up etc.. basicly treat them like crap!!! i wouldnt let them use one of mine!!
Had a guy e-mail me a few years ago about using my Monza in a movie. Didn't tell me what it was about but he had found mine through an internet search and liked the look of it. Offerred to ship the car to California, pay me for the use of it, and even fly me out there for the shoot. Downside was when he started talking about having a stunt driver drive it instead of letting me do it. Got a bad feeling at that point and declined his offer.
LOL...and they can do whatever they please with them after they buy them. I decided this morning in the shower I'm gonna list them on eBay...never done it but I think it's time to learn.
there was a member on here can't remember his name but the producer of the movie "12 rounds" wanted his camaro and they ended up destroying it during the movie shoot
