Don't even go there.....
SFC are a win win win situation....BUT as you know there are many ways to tackle that. I would assume your body bushings are solids? The HERB mod is pretty straight forward CUTTING stuff out of the way...with expected lowering of about 3/8" (at the wheel)IIRC
Yes. Global West solid bushings, GW sfc. I bought the repop spring brackets, but before I drill them for the Herb A. mod, i want to see where the car sits with the new springs. I dont want to lower things too far and cause an issue with pinion angle. I'm hoping to end up at either the same height I have now, or even a touch higher.
I got ambushed by an outboard motor problem, so I'm working on that now. If I dont have a way to my cottage, mama biker will not be happy.
FWIW biker, I posted about this HA mod and it's effects on lowering the rear a while back and the complementary rear change to the HA front eye position's .750 up in the pocket is to extend the rear pick up point 1 full inch, it helps to keep the rear height close to the same and adds to the HA anti squat advantage.
Thanks man! I will look for that post, I'm having a hard time picturing what you are saying.
if you RAISE the leaf mount bolt UP into the car it affectively changes the "instant center" FORWARD 1" relative to the CAR"S center of gravity, giving you "anti-squat" characteristics. 3/4" movement on 18" leaf spring (ish) gives you about 2* pinion change
Ok, thanks, looks like it will take some experimentation to make sure I set it up properly.
I found it, it was under "driveline angle issue?" here's the info from my reply on post #14.
My pleasure biker.
