I always thought the C clip elim went on outside the backing plates for drum and the same om the 79-81 bracket as that has the offset for the caliper and rotor to line up with the plate on the axle flange
I have another 1970 12 bolt with Mark Williams c-clip eliminators and Mark Williams axles and it looks different.....The c-clip eliminator is on the other side of the brake brackets and the c-clip eliminator is much thicker then then the 12bolt under the car. Is it possible the red things are spacers for some reason?
What's strange is I see guys talking about running 17x9.5 with 5.75" BS that tuck tires without roller fenders well I would have to roll fenders for sure! I mocked up an old 1996 corvette wheel that's 17x9.5 with 56mm offset (7.4"bs) with a 1.25" adapter that makes 6.15" BS and it fits easy!! I could probably get away with 6.5"bs. Maybe my axles are spaced out for some reason???
Teh drum looks the correct placement. The disc bracket is pushed out form the C clip inner part so rotos and caliper are now not in the same plane, but with a floating caliper it might be OK. I would also wonder where the bearing is as generally needs to be in both parts of the C clip parts and the disc bracket separates them.
