I've been watching for a 1969 or 1970 396 Nova and browse quite a bit on various sites, like ebay, craigslist, carsonline.com, etc. but have notice a new phenomenon recently.

In my personal experience, I have seen/spoken to several people & cars for sale that have simultaneously turned up on AutoTrader.com and a few other non-descript websites. These listings use the same photos, same verbiage, same everything as the original craigslist posting only with the price jacked up a few thousand dollars and the ads no longer include email or contact number. Instead they lead you to a "contact or ask questions" form. I'm presuming these are companies just crawling the web, snagging photos and pics, upping the listing price, and then acting as a mediator. - It just kindof bothers me that these are being listed on AutoTrader.com, etc. which one would deem to be a legitimate place to find a car.

I know 2 of the cars I spoke with the seller and know they were sold and their original listing was taken down before the rip-off listing had them up.

Just today, I have come across a site I have not seen before that appears bogus as well. It is called US Classifieds for all. At first it seems innocuous enough, but once you dig into the listings, they look suspicious

They have cars like one most of us are familiar with..., a 1970 Mulsane Blue L78 Camaro from Washington which was what..., a $60,000 ... $80,000 car ? listed for $32,000 ? https://usclassifieds4all.com/details.php?id=12206

and also, this beautiful Jerry McNeish certified 1970 Z28 for $12,300 ? https://usclassifieds4all.com/details.php?id=3234

    and a stunning 1970 Baldwin Tribute for $16,000 https://usclassifieds4all.com/details.php?id=4040

    The list goes on...,

    a beautiful 1970 Camaro for $12,000 https://usclassifieds4all.com/details.php?id=3693

What is the scam here...., I'm sure these are not real prices.

    Thoughts/ideas ?

those scammers just want you to send a deposit for the car...then the $$$ is GONE

the amount will be right at the max that Western Union (or similar) will allow being sent/received without a lot of questions being asked

My brother in law and his current girl friend are a couple that fit that bill too. Bought a time share last year, 6000 dollars or so, figured out what a scam that deal was so they got on the phone, went through several people and wound up another time share for an additional $2500. A fool and his money.........

It is always best to see a car prior to purchasing it. Asking the scammers if you can look at the car will shut most of them down. They will find excuses for you not to see it. If you are buying a car on line a plane ticket is far less than being scammed out of thousands. I have known far to many people buy cars unseen and they haven't got what they paid for.

If it sounds to good to be true it most likely is.

    did a little digging..

the domain has a Montana address for usclassifieds4all.com
However the hosting company is out of France. or at least the IP's the domain resolves to are Geo-located there.
My Guess is no reponse from them will be had unless its related to a particular ad using the contact form.

Using a web based WHOIS I found the registrar. but they don't share the underlying domain records (Used go daddy and versign.com whois tools)

Went old school using the linux command line version and got
The IP addresses map back to France so I would say complete scam site

okay. Yea, I submitted inquiries on a few of the car pages, if I hear anything back I will let you know.

I did copy and paste the descriptions into google search and found exact descriptions, pictures, ect on other "sale" sites. prices were much higher.
