Is there a guide to be able to locate all of the sheet metal stamping locations on the body? I have found quite a few of them but I’m also missing some.

If there is nothing out there, maybe share with what you have and others might add to it with additional pictures and locations.

Some years might vary as to where they were stamped so maybe include the build date and build plant of the car that is being documented.

I am down to the doors, roof and fenders.

I read the fender stamp is on the inside edge of the fender in the door jamb area near the belt line, but haven’t found them yet.

Doors and roof will have to wait, not interested in removing the interior right now.

I have 4 GM 70-77 fenders and none of them have dates that I can see. The door skins are under the door handle (covered by by the escutcheon). The door itself has stamping on the rear top under the weather stripping. The roof skin would be a tough one...No date code on rockers that I saw either, just a body stamping.

Well, that would explain why I can’t find any stamps on the fenders. I am 100% certain their original to the car, and I was under the impression they were stamped in the door jam area of the fender. Thanks for the confirmation.

The eighth week of 1970. Can you see that stamp with the fender on the car?

Probably not. Maybe with a mirror and good lighting?
