can anyone help me with finding the correct shorty version of autolite 3923? Or, it seems many recommend ngk, so the model number for that? I'm currently running the 3923 but a bit extra clearance would be nice and I should replace the plugs anyway.

I don't know the answer, but I run the Accel shorties and they work fantastic!

I honestly don't know much about plugs.. so don't know if 'these are my favorite plugs' is an ok option to go with. I'd assume so.. but I wanted to be safe and just go with the shorty version of the 3923, as that is the plug the builder recommended. are there direct conversions or not really..?

I just put a set of the Accell Shortie 8198's in over the weekend. HUGE improvement over the Bosch Platinums. The platinums suck, at least in my engine.

Your best best is to use better headers.
The Hedman Hedders #65104 clear straight and angle plugs using the Autolite 3923.

I use the short plugs for headers (pretty sure they're Accell) from AutoZone and they work great.
