I need some pictures and measurements for the proper position of wire retainer & clear retainer? I think my coat hanger retainer is in the correct location directly about the back door glass opening. So measurements from there would be appreciated! Thanks
Picture from Copo’s 70z Measurements from rear coat hook hole center to center of holes . Red 1st coat hook to first seat belt hole 2”. Red again to 2nd seat belt hole 4 1/8”. Red to blue hole on clip 13 1/8” . Red to green front elastic hook 28 1/4”. The wire retainers are they like what is in the second picture?
I really appreciate you taking the time for this info. So I have the clear clip & i moved the front black elastic hook(that i thought was a hanger hook) back where the hanger hook is at the back. Do you know if the front black hook is the same as the hanger hook? I got some of the wire retainers like picture #2 with the car and thought they were to be used also? But maybe not? I have this type on my 70 SS Chevelle. Thanks
The front hooks are the same as the rear coat hooks . The wire retainers were on my car when I got it also . I believe they were a over the counter part that could be had from GM
Yes and they used a elastic strap to hook over the front hook like on the first picture above from Copo’s car .
70 and 71 used only the coat hooks and the clear plastic clips. https://www.trimparts.com/6789 I believe that 72 is when the switch to the wire loops happened.
