Update to my grandson's situation in Pensacola...
We talked to him over the Thanksgiving holiday. He had been given permission to book fully refundable tickets to come home for Christmas departing Pensacola Friday afternoon on the 18th and returning to Pensacola by Sunday afternoon on the 27th.
We booked flights for him using frequent flyer miles (damn fully refundable tickets over the holiday period near a military base are way too expensive - around $1200). Using FF miles my wife can cancel those without repercussion with a phone call with her status with Delta.
We know that this isn't guaranteed to happen. We sincerely hope that it does - both for our grandson and our daughter.
The Marine has landed in Madison, WI...
Keagan and his mom (our daughter) last night at the Madison, WI airport. We'll be down there next Wednesday. Keagan will fly back early - 6:00 AM the Sunday morning after Christmas.
My Christmas wish has been granted!!!
Enjoy having your grandson home, but be safe. Keep everybody safe from COVID as much as possible. If somebody gets sick. the holiday won't be so nice.
My sister and brother-in-law drove to Texas for Thanksgiving to be with their daughters and their families. While there, one of the grandkids came down with COVID. Now most of the family in Texas has it, but they are young and doing well. My Sister and Brother-in-law are in their 70s and are now home fighting to get past this.
Please put my wife’s cancer into remission so I can have another Christmas with her.
My prayers are with you. I'm a 3 time cancer survivor.
