Hey guys, I am a little annoyed by my fuel pump as it buzzes like a little bumble bee...

I have videos for reference. (yes vids are sideways, just listen thats all)

    Buzzing:

Fuel pump switch OFF = no buzzing:

I was told by one guy in the city "Just get rubber and put between frame mount"

Would this work? Does this make sense? I am not quite sure what this means... can anyone explain please?

What fuel pump is it? And yes, a piece of rubber or gasket if you will bolted between the fuel pump bracket and its mounting surface will help dampen some of the noise.

Dead heading an electric pump? One of the side effects, that noise is your pump straining, trying to push fuel.

Running a return line as opposed to a dead head system is awesome. Noise lever drops significantly. But more portantly it keeps the fuel and the pump MUCH cooler and will allow the pump to live a much longer happier life.

Get an old tire and cut pieces out of the sidewall, use it under and behind the mounting area. Make the mounting bolts not touch the metal the pump is mounted to. Use washers and oversize holes. Will stop most of the noise. But I have never gotten an elec pump to be quiet enough that you can't hear it when the motor is not running.

My pump was real annoying before the rubber insulators. No metal to metal contact is the key.
