I put down the cigarettes on Ash Wednesday. I have never given up smoking for Lent in the past. The biggest things I notice is no wheezing when I breathe or laugh. I sing in a band an church and my voice get amazingly stonger! Fantastic health benefits you enjoyed immediatly! Can't beat that. If your pressure continues to improve, kiss your htn meds goodbye. In fact, the numbers you posted are fairly well controlled. Some of that may be the meds still so consult the doctor before you quit the meds! Somehow, it seems to be the single, worst habit I ever formed!! Amazing that you will likely always want a smoke! Sad Too. BTW- Contrags to you and all who are making a change. I must be successful on this attempt. I have a renewed desire to live for a mighty long time!
Thought I'd update well, it's been 74 days since I had a smoke. It has gotten easier but I still want one. I keep hoping I will reach the stage of not being able to stand the smell of it that everybody keeps telling me I will but it hasn't happened yet. Still hanging in there though. How about the rest of you guys?
Your over the hump, keep up the good work, been over 2 years for me, plenty of support here if you need it.
Be real proud of yourself. Everyone except me smoked in my family. And they all quit cold turkey. They focused on the health issues related to smoking. Keep up the GREAT work!!
Congrats! Great Job! After reading this over I have decided today is the day I stop using skoal. I have used on and off for well over 20 years. You have inspired me to give it a serious try for good.
