    were those race ready or the competition porting version?

    My new engine with the AFR 227 eliminator/ comp port goes to the dyno soon.. we will see how she does.

    by the way.. Mike Lewis/ Lewis racing can get you a few dollars off the AFR's.

    This was just their basic street head. So, however that comes from AFR. he paid right around 1500 for them.

    Hello Rick,
    That is outstanding performance for sure!

    Do you have any more specifics on the Cam such as actual lobe lift and LSA?

    .550 lift, 230 duration, 110 duration, 106 installed. It's a solid Comp Cam although I don't know what lobe the shop owner speced.

    I figure if you got .550 lift with a 230* solid FT cam, she must be a fairly healthy lobe. what kind of spring pressures are you using? EDM lifters?

    Mike, I really don't know what all the details are on this engine. Typically Jon will use a spec Isky beehive design he likes in an application like this and spec the lobe based on what has worked in the late models engines that have to run flat tappets. He likely used either a Johnson or Ferrea lifter with a nitriding treatment on the cam. Those combos have been durable in the race engines.
