I really hope this site can avoid going down the political highway, it gets ugly really quick.

Generally ads have to be blocked specifically so once an admin sees it I'm sure they can do something
because the no politics is directed towards users, ads are something out of our hands and would have to be brought to someone else's attention
I suggest posting this in the site topic section, might be seen faster than in BS

Yeah, that's an ad issue not something we just decided to let run.

I don't know if we're using Google adSense, but if we are, you're being fed ads based on your cookies and browsing history. Now I don't know if they try to parse if you're for or against a particular topic, but you'll definitely get that topic in general.

Haven't seen an ad pop up on this site in a couple of years.

Ironically, we're in Maine for the next couple of weeks and the political ads have been brutal. I've about worn out the mute button every time one of them comes on. Can't wait to get back home in Illinois because it can't be this bad.

The ads come from where you have been on the internet, correct to your political preference or not.
They are just ads we have to bear to pay the bills.
