At my last residence I ordered a oil pump primer tool from Summit Racing.

I probably don't have remind many here that Summit packages their wares in boxes that are marked SUMMIT RACING all over the box.

Well, my neighbor downstairs, this reclusive kinda guy, comes and knocks on my door and says 'oh, I think this is for you.'

I thanked him and he pretty much ran away immediately. Then I noticed that 1.) the box had my correct address on it, duh... and 2.) he OPENED THE BOX... WTF?
Fortunately he wasn't a car guy by any stretch of the imagination.. but I was pissed that he opened something that clearly had my NAME, my ADDRESS, and SUMMIT RACING all over it!... glad he returned it though... LOL

P.S., his license plate said something about being a doctor.. in what.. I have no idea. But he sure isn't a medical doctor.

No argument there from me. I'm not a fan of... people. LOL.

And yes, born in CA... still a fish out of water though.

Well, as it turns out, our society isn't all that bad. Today I was suppose to receive the replacement order, but it wasn't at my doorstep. There was a UPS note on the door notifying me that it was in the Office. I go down to pick it up at the office and the guy tells me there are 2 packages for me...I got the new thermostat and the one from the other day. So the little girl didn't lie after all.

I'm glad I decided to let it all go and not try to accuse them of anything, because they were innocent the whole time. I didn't know my office did this sort of thing, as the last place I lived wouldn't accept packages.

    So....anyone need a digital thermostat???

I just bought an amplifier from a guy on another message board (Yes. There are others out there).

He stated in the ad "Cosmetic - 6/10 Mechanical - Unknown".

Later, someone asked him "Does it work?"

He replied (and this is a quote straight from his post)
"it powers up and ran some older kicker comps not sure how acurate the power is but it does power up and work fine"

That tells me, it works. Right?

So I offered him $25 shipped (was asking $25 plus shipping).

He accepted the offer, then later bitched to me about the PayPal fees and how much shipping cost. By the grace of God, I flipped him $5 to help with shipping, and even gave it to him as a gift so I got charged the fee ($0.45).

I received it, hooked it up and it doesn't work. It powers up, but doesn't emit sound. So I sent him a message saying I'd pay for shipping back to him, but please refund my money.

He said "No. It's not worth the hassle." I said "But you told the other guy it worked. It doesn't work. You lied."

You know what he says next? "Why should we both lose money?"
I said "Principle. That's why. You lied."

If I could only reach through the computer and slap him.....

So glad it worked the way it *should*.

I was going to vote for a visit to the parents myself, but now definitely get in touch with Amazon and get an RMA to return one. (They may tell you it's not worth it, but you have to at least try to do it right.)
