i replaced every par t except the box when putting my 78z together. with new tires and brakes. i couldn't believe how sloppy it drove. this is my 1st camaro, but i always thought they were supposed to handle well.after reading alot of advice on nasty i started adjusting on the steering box.i was told probably as were you to go in small adjustments and try it. i've moved mine about 3/4 of one round and now can't believe how well it drives.i left just a little free play, and it's like a different car. hope it adjusts out for you.

You need to start by figuring out where the play is. That's not normal. Have someone gently turn the steering wheel back and forth while you examine the entire steering system.
