Steering shaft question

I am attempting to replace the rubber boot that covers the end of the intermediate steering shaft that connects with the steering column. The base of the original boot was 2 1/4 inches wide and every boot that I have ordered has a smaller base of 2". Has anyone encountered the same situation and how did you resolve it? Is there another company that makes replacement boots that would fit my Camaro? Thanks guys.

i got my boot from inline tube, but if i remember right, either there was a thin steel washer over it or i made a thin one to fit when i took it out. now i have to watch the video. thinking back i went into the international tractor dealership here in town and they had a rack of shim washers, and one worked perfect, sat against the housing and fit nice over the boot. before like your saying a little pull with the fingers and it come right out. its what i did? if i remember right they use to mold a steel washer inside the lip of that boot and inlines didnt have that. cost prohibitive i would guess? and i couldnt find any that still had the steel molded in. i think it was 1 3/4 id inch to fit around the boot. aluminum would maybe work also.
