Like Terry and Gramps have said, "it's been a tough winter" we are now 3rd place for the most snow in a season just shy of 90" right now and at the rate things are going we might beat the all time record set back in 83-84. That season just sucked, but the good news for me is I have 4 killer Ariens snow blowers and all are modified and the biggest one can toss snow 70ft with the new 420cc engine. I just love telling snow to kiss my a$$🤣

Ya, you guys are killing us for total snowfall, but the snowfalls we have had have been big. Today was one of those.

Growing up in southern Ontario/buffalo ny I’m no stranger to larger snow falls. Yet they close schools and grocery stores and everything else here whenever it’s too cold or there’s more than an inch of snow expected.

The killer for snowblowers is vibration. Little one lunger engine mounted solid to chassis, they shake everything loose if you dont keep an eye on everything and tighten as needed.

Drive issues are almost always the drive belt tension. The cable attached to the drive hand control stretches a bit, the belt wears a bit and presto, no drive... 1 minute adjustment on the cable and all is well.
i had an old craftsman tractor with a snowblower attachment. Pretty much everytime i was done, i had to go walk the sidewalks for all the little bits that would rattle off of it.

I just did a quick calculation of the square footage of the three driveways I cleared this winter, times 7.5 ft of snow...
My machine moved approximately 1800 cubic yards of snow!

That's a lot of work for a 1999 lawn tractor and 40" blower.
It developed a little oil leak this winter but now I realize it's probably just "engine sweat".

The forecast here is calling for another big snowstorm to come through here on Tuesday and Wednesday bringing us another 6-12" of snow.
Maybe this will be the last one for the season.

Lord have mercy guys, it April for crying out loud!!! We have our share of somewhat bad winters in Northern Ohio. Nothing like you guys get, but its been balmy here all winter. Basically 2 bad storms, that weren't bad at all really. 5 inches or so of snow each time. Temps got down in the single digits 2 or 3 times. Don't think we ever went below zero or under 5 degrees prolly

Its 8:00 AM here in Gansevoort, NY. Snowing pretty hard. Supposed to continue until 10:00 PM and take a break. It returns around 2:00 AM. That wall is about 5 foot high. Wonder if I'll be able to see it to
