Stranger Things 2 1979 Camaro Build. Need tips.

Here’s some of the photos of the floorpans, ive circled the holes where it has rusted through. Ill be replacing the full passenger and driver side floorpans (including toe boards) so this should be interesting.
I should be removing the floor pans within the next week or two and will document it all for those of you who are also dealing with rusted floor pans.

(I just realized my explanation of what i'm doing with the floor pans was very long and confusing, so im re-typing it)

I got in all of the floor pans from JEGS, but i have two questions.

I would like to know if it's a better idea to replace the whole floor or just the rusted areas; my transmission tunnel is clean and not rusted, however the floor pans next to it are rusted (see photo i attached marking where rust is on my pan).

Also when cutting out and installing the new pan is there anything i need to lookout for and avoid cutting? fuel lines, subframe, etc.?

Personally I would go to replace only rusted areas. Definitely I would spend some time getting off fuel lines completely, I like to keep my garage safe

Any update on this thread? I'm a big movie car buff (currently have a screen accurate Jurassic Park Jeep) and plan on making my own Stranger Things Camaro. I too agree that they most likely took the Z28 hood off due to camera angles. Movies crews do some weird things to account for filming. In Jurassic Park they used low gloss paint so there were less reflections, and they even went so far to paint door jambs in a low gloss paint.

The screen used Camaro from Stranger Things is located at a movie car museum in Branson. I tried reaching out to the owner with no luck.

You may already know this, but Jada was making a die cast of this car. I got mine a few years ago I think, but it looks like there's still plenty around for sale.

I live in Quebec and my floor wasnt this bad. Any idea what happend to make it this rusty? Cool project! Looking forward to see the build. Im a big fan of season 2.

usually, the heater core will leak and in drive side moisture can leak through column seal. The moisture can leak through the other seals like were the kick panels attach.

Looks like it's probably a base Camaro with the front clip off a Z28. I would trade my Z28 even for a very clean base Camaro of the same years.
