I'm getting ready to remove the paint from the front and rear bumpers off my 81. I've tried chemical stripper, and it is barely touching it. The guy I use for blasting said that soda blasting will melt the bumpers. How are you guys stripping your bumpers? Thanks

Thanks for your time CamaroGuy. The bumpers were just painted a few years ago, so no flaking or cracking. I've decided to go with a different color, and was hoping to save some time by not using "my hand"

I do have a palm DA. I was just looking for a quicker/easier way, so I could put all that sanding time towards my list of 100 other things to finish on the car.

sand buy hand. you dont need to take all the paint off if its still in good shape, just sand smooth and paint. if you sand past the paint down to plastic be shure to use a promoter on those areas if you dont you will be doing it again.

    Why are you stripping them?

Thanks for the tips. Mountaineer, both bumpers were painted and cleared about 5 years ago and put to the side, along with the project. I've recently restarted the project, and decided on a color change.

I have blasted several bumper covers in my blast cabinet. You have to know what you are doing and be very careful.
