Suffix code discrepancy

    Looking up the numbers on an 84 z28, I saw that the motor was not original, which didn't surprise me.
    BUT...I am getting different results from different sources!
    V0419TBL
    partial vin underneath the above number starts with CCF
    It appears to be a 1982 truck block, but depending on the source, there are contradicting results, some say it's a 350, some say it's a 305, but both agree it's a 1982 truck motor from Flint!

    Check the casting numbers on the block for date code and casting. I would tend to believe that it is a truck 350 assembled April 19 but the year would nail it down closer to what it is as Chevy repeats codes.

    Turns out to be a 1982 truck 305.

    balancer on a 305 is smaller. First place to look.
