Strange roof 1972 Z28
Looks like a leak waiting to happen. Definitely not a dealer option.
There was a canvas sunroof available on the Chevy Nova for a couple of years in the early 70's. (72 & 73)
The "Skyroof" (Ventura II folding sunroof) was a factory option for a Nova and only about 10 thousand were actually built in those 2 years.
They were produced in several different colors, to match the car, and each color had it's own RPO code. (in 72)
In 73.. it was a single RPO number RPO-CF1.
I would think it could have been ordered from a GM parts counter and installed by the owner (or dealer) on a Camaro.
A member on this board (bbcnova) owns a Nova with this factory option.
I've seen it and I am pretty sure it's the same sunroof that was installed in the Camaro the OP pictured.
Velkommen til dette forum Magnus :- )
Didn't the 1970 Hurst sunshine special Camaro have a roof like that?
A lady I worked with back then had a Nova with the sunroof. Yes it leaked no matter what the dealer did to it. After a few years of wet interior, she traded the car for a new Datsun. It also had a factory sunroof, and it leaked as bad as the Nova. Again, nothing the dealer could do would stop the leaking. So, that car had a wet interior as long as she had it too. Her next car had NO sunroof and it didn't leak.
That car was a prototype and the sunroof was never a Camaro factory option.
But it WAS offered on Nova a couple of years later. (Meaning... A dealer could get the GM parts for this option in the following years.)
Tack trevligt med en Dansk granne.
I new someone who had one on a '69 Camaro back in the 80's, looked factory but I can't be positive
