I just talked with my brother who live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu . He told me about huge surf hitting the North shore Waimea Bay pipeline yesterday , Some sets reaching 60ft
That is so crazy , 6 stories high , and like a building crashing down on you , no thanks , I would watch the waves, I just have no desire to touch the waves, HAA HA
Not only the insane surf can kill you but during this time of year shark sightings are up . There's Great Whites , Tiger sharks , Hammer heads and White tip sharks all swimming alongside the surfers
I don’t think these surfers (who challenge rolling mountains of water) even consider sharks a credible threat. That would be like worrying about wood ticks while fighting a forest fire.
Interesting tidbit - there is a bouy somewhere off the coast of Hawaii, when it records a higher than normal wave height, it will snow in Utah in two weeks, give or take a day. Its wildly accurate for bar room weather. I think it “popped” yesterday or the day before, so somewhere around the 27-28th ski resorts in Utah should get some snow.
